rebrand
In August my Wednesday contract finished after 3 years. It had never fit me properly but it was an easy set up and the people were nice. This ending sent me into something of an anxiety spin, which prompted me to look at all areas of my life and rectify a few things which needed attention. I journaled a lot, went back to therapy, sat with my feelings, put them into the earth on the full moon with a friend, burnt what I wanted to let go of in the woods and danced them out on the Downs at Ecstatic Dance. It was important and although at times felt unbearable, it was necessary and beautiful to come out the other side.
At some point I was reading back old journal entries and I came across a prompt I had answered - What would you do if money was no object? One of my answers was to quit the contract and spend that time working on branding clients, the part of designing which I find truly the most rewarding and joyful. My kids went away for 9 days in August with their Dad, the longest I have ever not seen them for, so I spent a lot of that time working through my own branding documents. The ones I use for my clients, I did the intake form, I did the core values exercise, then I worked through the branding document. What I came out with made me very happy. My 3 brand pillars: Authentic, Supportive, Playful, these came to me easily. The colours and icons came into place based on my values and principles and the logo and font was designed to attract my ideal client.
So here we go, I can’t wait to take on new branding clients. I am booking them in from October. If you are reading this and are thinking about branding let’s chat and see if we have good chemistry.
