january round up
January, oh what a month to be alive. I have to say I have loved this January. Was it more sunny than normal? After the endless rain of Autumn. I started The Artist’s Way again with a new gang of ladies, which has been pure joy. I also did 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene and got back into weights 3 times a week. A reset after the over indulgence of Christmas. Calm and quiet and lots of sleep.
I have a big birthday coming up this year and I am in dream mode thinking about what adventures I want to go on. Work wise I am excited to work with lots of women this year. Please if you know someone who needs branding and or a website send them my way. I learn something from everyone I work with. I can’t wait to meet them.
What I Read
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
Daring Greatly by Brene Brown
A Marriage Portrait by Maggie O’Farrell
Explorers on Black Ice Bridge by Alex Bell
The Winter Garden by Kristen Hannah
I started Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow last year and finished it in early January. I am not into gaming but this book made me want to start. I loved the characters so much in this and it read like a thriller, I couldn’t put it down.
Maggie O’Farrell has written another stunning book. I loved this setting in the 1590’s and what a story. The detail that O’Farrell goes into without any information being extra or unnecessary is so clever. She is an extraordinarily good editor.
The Alex Bell book is a book I read which was part of a series of books I have read with the kids and I have added it into my list because I want to remember them. I think Black Ice Bridge is number 4. They are so magical and full of adventure.
MONTHLY FAVOURITES
Watched… I don’t need to explain The White Lotus to anyone but my god, what a programme. In series 2 when Jennifer Coolridge’s character Tanya is trying to get Valentina to say she looks like Monica Belushi and Valentina cocks her head and says ‘Peppa Pig‘? I think that might be the funniest TV moment i have ever witnessed.
Listened to… Raynor Winn on Happy Place is a lovely listen. She makes me want to get out on the Downs or The South West Coast Path and leave everything behind for a little while. I am so grateful for her words.
Turned up for… Pottery & Pints at the Shakespeare’s Head. I drank a fizzy water ;) but made a bowl and boy it feels good to make something out of clay. It has given me a thirst for ceramics. Have now signed up for a 7 week course at Atelier 51, which I’m very excited about.
