february round up
It has been more than 4 years since I had a blog. Oh man, did I pour my heart and soul into that thing. I started it in 2008, when the only other people who I knew were blogging were my brother and Rumi Neely. That was where i used to re-post endless images from Fashion Week. That is where I gushed my heart out about the huge and heart searing love i had for Luna when she was born. I even managed a few collaborations before influencers were a thing. Now blogging doesn’t seem such a thing anymore I am back here with a little monthly journal entry. I don’t think anyone will read it, but hey you are right now!
I have had some lovely branding projects this month including Marielle’s and Ruth’s. Lucky me!
WHAT I READ THIS MONTH
1. Ladder To The Sky by John Boyne
2. Such A Fun Age by Kiley Reid
3. Heart Talk by Cleo Wade *poetry
4. More Than Enough by Elaine Welteroth *non-fiction
5. Outline by Rachel Cusk
6. Everything Under by Daisy Johnston
Loved Such A Fun Age which we read for our book club. It is a really interesting perspective on race and privilege. Big thumbs up. Also Cleo Wade’s poetry speaks to my heart! I love her, what a beautiful and inspiring soul.
MONTHLY FAVOURITES
Went to… The Womenhood’s Unspoken Session - Is Love All You Need? The Womenhood is a collective of women from my area and I am lucky enough to be part of the team. We put on events with key speakers to discuss topics which usually go under the radar. This one was the night before Valentine’s Day about love in long term relationships.
Listened to… In Brighton we have some excellent radio stations. One I particularly love is 1 BTN but more recently I have been listening to a lot of Reverb Radio. My favourite is Lady Love. A radio show to celebrate all things female with the amazing artist Amy Isles Freeman, whose t shirt I am wearing right now. The show collates females and non-binary music and she speaks about all the culture she is currently interested in.
