august round up
Wow the summer wizzed by! A short one today because I am working like a mad woman on a brilliant new retainer. Learning some new programmes and topping up my freelance cup with some contract work. Ah balance…
What I Read This Month
1. The Harpy by Megan Hunter
2. Growing Goats & Girls by Rosanne Hodin *nf
3. Unsettled Ground by Claire Fuller
4. Sunset by Jessie Cave
DO NOT read The Harpy! But doooo read both Growing Goats & Girls and Unsettled Ground. One non fiction, one fiction. Such beautiful books, both emotive and nature and love filled in their rural splendour!
MONTHLY FAVOURITES
Watched… Well of course it was The Handmaid’s Tale, which hasn’t lost any of it’s depth and beauty since the previous series. Spoiler! FINALLY June is in Canada but wow the ENDING! It was something else, primal, poignant, clever, satisfying, terrifying.
Listened… I am rather hooked on the Alanis Morisette podcast going back to 2018. She covered such interesting topics and I find her really easy to listen to.
