july round up
July flew by with 2 camping trips, a few lovely design projects and lots of time spent on the beach, South Downs and home. A change is as good as a break, as they say and Devon was glorious; cooking outside, spending lots of time chatting with friends and eating delicious chef made food (thanks Jonny!)
What I read this month:
1. Lands Of Lost Borders - A Journey on the Silk Road by Kate Harris
2. Supper Club by Lara Williams
3. Superior. The Return of Race Science by Andrea Saini
I am blown away by Andrea Saini’s book about the science of race. Some of the facts in this book are rumbling around in my head constantly. I could try and do it justice but I would much rather just hand you over to this article in the Guardian. It is important, if you can please give it a read.

Kalief Browder
The Hate U Give
These three are such an interesting insight into understanding black identity in America. I also watched the Jeffrey Epstein documentary and I am horrified by it but I think we should be focusing more on race issues at this moment in time.
Turned Up Online for... Pandora Sykes in Conversation with Hadley Freeman on her new book, covering cancel culture, wellness and not having to polarise yourself on every issue. How we can sit in the middle and listen and learn. I can’t wait to get my hands on How Do We Know We’re Doing It Right?
Honestly with Clemmie Telford in Conversation with Anna Jones talking about food, kids, body image, food ruts and more.
Louis Theroux with Miriam Margolyes absolutely killed me with hilarity. If you listen to one thing please listen to this and then send me a message because I cannot get over how funny and controversial she is.
